FairTools service, as a company is outstanding. So this review doesn't not reflect how I feel about the company... BUT faults need to be pointed out. I own; 1 x Delta Max, 2 x EcoFlow Delta Pro 3's. Needed for off-grid situation.
EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 Review – Excellent Hardware, Frustrating Solar Firmware
I run two Delta Pro 3 units in a real off-grid environment with 400W panels per input (800W per unit, well within the 1600W capacity). The hardware build quality is solid. Battery capacity is excellent. AC output is strong and reliable.
However, the solar input management is deeply frustrating.
Every single morning, without fail, when panels are rotated toward the sun, the units frequently fail to recognize incoming solar power. The only workaround is to unplug all solar inputs, reconnect a single panel to “wake” the MPPT controller, and then attempt to reconnect the second panel. Sometimes it accepts it. Sometimes it requires repeated attempts.
This is not a wiring issue. Connectors are crimped correctly, regularly inspected, and replaced when needed. This appears to be a firmware or MPPT detection threshold flaw — and online forums suggest this is a common issue.
For a premium unit marketed toward serious off-grid users, daily manual intervention to initiate solar charging is unacceptable.
The batteries themselves are excellent.
The internal solar regulation software is the weak point.
If EcoFlow addressed this firmware instability, the Delta Pro 3 would be nearly perfect.
Until then, be prepared for daily solar babysitting.
