Transponder chips and key chips
The transponder chip is what the immobiliser actually reads. Without a chip programmed to the vehicle, a correctly cut key will turn the lock but the engine will not start. Super chips emulate multiple chip types from one part, so a single item covers 4D, 46, 48, 8A and other families.
