Smoke leak detectors and EVAP machines

A smoke machine fills a sealed system with low-pressure vapour and lets you watch where it escapes. It is the fastest way to find EVAP leaks behind a P0442 or P0455 code, and it works equally well on intake and boost leaks, exhaust leaks and water ingress paths that only show as a damp carpet.
